  • A win by most goals scored is 2 points.
  • A tie in a game is 1 point.
  • In case of a tie with points follow this:
    1. If there is a tie with points in the first round, players follow number of nutmegs, number of goals scored, and the final decision is a coin toss.
    2. If there is a tie in the third and final round during the game it will go down to a 1 minute of over time. The first goal or nutmeg wins the match.  If it exceeds the 1 minute of time it will go to a penalty shoot out.  Players will shoot from the opposing players end line.  Each player will take three shots alternating back and forth.  The players will not shoot in to goal, but instead they must hit a side post of the goal.

GAME PLAY RULES:

  • Every game will start on time.  There is no grace period.
  • Clock will be running there is no stoppage time or injury time.

  • No corner kicks.
  • A player may not dribble out on purpose to award a dribble in.  If a player dribbles out on purpose it will award the opponent a penalty kick.
  • No guarding the goal.  The defending player should always try to defend.
  • If a player insists on guarding the goal, they may be punished with a penalty kick (this decsision will be made by the referee).
  • There are three types of fouls.
    1. Level 1 foul - For a level 1 foul the player being fouled will receive a re-start giving that player possession of the ball at his/her end of the field.
    2. Level 2 foul - A level 2 foul will be awarded for a more severe foul.  The player will be given a penalty shot from the opposing player’s end line.  A level 2 foul will be called when there is a clear goal scoring opportunity, guarding the goal or an intentional handball.

About Ole Knockout

The Ole Knockout is brought to you by Ole Soccer Club's director Jose Fabian Rodriguez.  Jose introduced the Ole KO #1 Tournament to Grand Rapids, MI in February of 2008.  The Ole KO #1 Tournament was held at "El Gigante" (now known as Woodland Sports) with over 80 players competing in this 1v1 nutmeg tournament.  After a long absence, the tournament is back for 2010!  This tournament is one of a kind and never done anywhere else in the US.  Ole Soccer Club is proud to re-introduce the Ole Knockout Tournament.  Dont miss out on Ole Knockout II.
